What Medicare Part B covers for mental health
Medicare Covers 80% of Approved Costs
After you've met your Part B deductible, Medicare typically pays 80% of the Medicare-approved amount for outpatient mental health services.
No Referral Required
You can self-refer to a Medicare-participating therapist. A referral from your doctor is not required to begin therapy.
Telehealth Is Covered
Medicare Part B covers telehealth therapy sessions, meaning you can meet with your therapist by video from anywhere in Oregon or Arizona.
Couples Therapy Eligibility
Couples therapy may be covered when there is a documented mental health diagnosis for at least one partner. We can help you navigate this process.
